En Zamri bin Abdul Rahman

Mr Zamri is part of the Executive Committee at the Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM) as well as the Chairman of the Young Professionals group in the association.
He has a BSc. Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA and MSc. In Environmental Engineering from University Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. He has also participated in Management Programmes at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines and Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
He is certified as ‘Competent Person in Industrial Effluent Treatment’ and has more than 25 years working experience in solid waste management, renewable energy, and waste water treatment.
Dr Pramila Temunaidu
Advisor for YPG
Dr. Pramila Tamunaidu is a young and upcoming researcher and educator at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Campus, Malaysia. She has a Bachelors and Masters in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Doctoral in Energy Science from Kyoto University, Japan. She has been actively involved in the development of many prominent projects in collaboration with government entities and industries from Malaysia and Japan in areas of solid waste management, water and waste water treatment, biomaterials and biofuels.
She initiated the concept of Blue, Green and Sustainable Lifestyle@UTM KL in promoting low carbon living environment. Consequently, many initiatives are actively being carried out under the Campus Sustainability Office in partnership with government and private entities including NGO especially on recycling of various wastes (DRB-Hicom Environmental Services), recycling and upcycling e-waste (T-POT Electrical and Electronic Sdn Bhd), upcycling textiles (RCOMM Lestari) and responsible disposal of chemical waste (Jabatan Alam Sekitar Kuala Lumpur). Additionally, continuous collection of dry and canned food; pre-loved clothes and things are placed at “Caring Cabinets” for anyone to take and use; or sold at Jumble Sale Amal.
All the proceeds go to “Because We Care Chancellor’s Fund” to help students from low income families. Additionally, she has obtained various research grants worth more than USD 300K and development grants worth more than USD 10 million to develop near-to-market R&D such as Sub-critical Water Solid-Waste Management System in Eduhub Pagoh and Advanced Moving Bed Bio-Reactor for Wastewater Treatment in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi.
Dr Pramila is currently the Manager of Malaysia-Japan Advanced Research Centre (MJARC) UTM-MJIIT Pagoh and Deputy Director of UTM Campus Sustainability Unit Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Chair of ISWA YPG Malaysian Chapter
Rachele Chwee is the Senior Executive in the Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM). Since starting in WMAM in 2014, she has been involved with government and member liaison, executing training programs, workshops, forums and conferences for industry players in the waste industry. She is also responsible for the association’s annual conferences in 2014, 2017 and the ISWA Beacon Conference & Gala Dinner Kuala Lumpur in 2015 and 2016.
She is currently working on projects with local environmental associations to engage the public on the importance of proper waste management in her home country, Malaysia. Rachele is also a key organizing committee member and administrator for the upcoming ISWA World Congress in Kuala Lumpur in 2018.
Rachele is passionate about environmental issues and is keen to grow and progress in the environmental and waste industry. With that passion, she has started a YP Group under the association and is working on setting up the ISWA YP Chapter in Malaysia by the end of 2017.
Rachele holds a Hons. Degree in Chemical Engineering from UCSI University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Lead in Marketing and Communication
Nurul Hidayah Shabdin is currently a PhD researcher in Department of Environmental and Green Technology at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She received her Bachelor from International Islamic University Malaysia and her Master from UTM before eventually worked as town planner in 2011.
Her passion towards sustainable environment has led her to join ISWA and YPG Malaysia Chapter to actively join activities and networking. She recently collaborated with landfill operators to research on landfill gas emissions. Working on developing new method in estimating GHG emission impacts from landfill, she hopes to share her knowledge and strong passion to contribute back to the communities.
Building a strong network of young professional has become her target to bring forward new responsible generation to actually broadcast their awareness and love towards our own environment and future. Mohd Faisal Abdur Rani
Lead in Events and Programs
Faisal is currently the Co-Founder and Program Director of Impactlution. Head of Waste Management Division for the Sustainable Business Network Association Malaysia, Advisors for Generasi Peduli Sampah, and Lead Program and Event for International Solid Waste Association Young Professional Group ( ISWA YPG ) Malaysia Chapter specializes in sustainable waste management practices, learning, and green project management.
Currently, he is the Program Director for Impactlution, a social enterprise leading the way in environmental conservation and community development. He was also the Business Development Manager for NEUTO Group Malaysia leading the way for sustainability in the automotive industries through Hydrogen technology and also a Business Development consultant for Measurement and Verification Sdn Bhd in the Green Building and Building Energy Efficiency and Conservation.
He has been a team contributor for Kuala Lumpur Low Carbon Society Blueprint, Sg Bunus River of Life Project, Bukit Bintang Biodegradable initiative and Project Director and Trainer for Trash Hero Malaysia World CleanUp Day and International Coastal Cleanup Day 2018-2019 and the Program Director for Impactlution Malaysia 10 minute Cleanup Challenge World Cleanup Day 2020. Founder of the Malaysia EcoBrickers Community, tackling the issue of single-use plastic and education and awareness of the reduction of single-use plastic in schools, community, and businesses
Lead in Research and Education
Mohamed Alsamet is a PhD candidate at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) in Kuala Lumpur where his research focus area on solid waste management mainly on the optimization of anaerobic co-digestion of organic wastes for biogas production in Malaysia. Before joining MJIIT, he worked in the academia and academic management.
He has worked for the ClimatEducate project focusing on Climate Change awareness, mitigation and adaptation, mainly targeting schools. And now he is the lead in research and education of the ISWA YPG Malaysia Chapter .
Mohamed Holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) Hons. from the University of Malaya (UM), and a Master’s degree in Environmental Technology Management from University Putra Malaysia (UPM).
