AFTER taking over a small section of the public cleansing services in Klang, KDEB Waste Management has identified the rampant indiscriminate dumping of rubbish by residents living in commercial areas as its biggest challenge.
Its general manager Ramli Mohd Tahir said the irresponsible habit of residents affected the cleanliness of the royal town.
Ramli said the company, which took over the public cleansing services at 20 of the total 111 zones in the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) in March, would gradually take over entire Klang in July next year.
Despite providing rubbish bins at the areas, he said, the residents dumped their waste all over the place including at five-foot ways and road shoulders.
“They just throw rubbish bags at spots that are convenient for them. Their action is affecting the town’s cleanliness,” he added.
Under the circumstances, Ramli said the number of mobile rubbish bins would be increased at the affected streets.
